Festival of Trees 2009 was a big success!

Thank you to our chairs Rebecca Bartlett and Elin Hilderbrand, who welcomed everyone to the 2009 Festival of Trees.

Opening Christmas Stroll weekend each year, the Festival of Trees transforms the Whaling Museum into magical woodland of about eighty brilliantly decorated holiday trees. From the traditional to the whimsical, each tree is decorated by members of the community, including schoolchildren, artists and artisans, merchants and nonprofit organizations.  Kicking off the event is the tremendously popular Preview Party, which features “Nantucket Delights” from a dozen of the island’s top restaurants. Throughout December, more than 3,000 visitors, including groups from Nantucket’s pre-schools and senior centers, enjoy the annual event that has engaged and enchanted the community for fifteen years. 

Tickets for the Festival of Trees Preview Party will go on sale in mid-October and will be available until the event is sold out, which is usually very quickly! Please call Stacey Stuart, 508-228-1894, ext.130 (or email sstuart AT nha.org) for more information.
