MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR JULY 19-21 NHA PROGRAMS
NANTUCKET, Mass.:Join us at the Nantucket Historical Association for three special programs, July 19–21
- Family Workshops on Drawing Whales
Musician and award-winning illustrator Don Sineti, of Mystic Seaport uses art and music to teach children of all ages about whales. Free for NHA members or with museum admission. Tuesday, July 19, and Wednesday, July 20, 2 –3 P.M., at the Whaling Museum, 13 Broad Street.
- Family Concert with Chanteyman Don Sineti
Mystic Seaport’s Don Sineti returns to the NHA to share sailors’ songs and chanteys that tell the stories of life on the high seas. Free for NHA members; $10 for nonmembers. Tickets available at the door or in advance by calling 508-228-1894, ext. 0. Wednesday, July 20, 7 P.M., at the Whaling Museum, 13 Broad Street. Doors open at 6:30 P.M.
- Hadwen after Dark: Demonstration of Historic Lighting Devices
Join the NHA at twilight in the front parlor of the Hadwen House as craftsman and historian Don Carpentier, of Eastfield Village, demonstrates the lighting technology used in the nineteenth century. Free for NHA members; $15 for nonmembers. Tickets available at the door. Hadwen House is located at 96 Main Street. Thursday, July 21, 7 P.M., at the Hadwen House, 96 Main Street.
