Annual Fund Campaign 2010

Dear Friends and Members of the NHA,

Like those before us, we share a deep affection for our island home, our Nantucket. 

For 116 years the Nantucket Historical Association has been preserving the island’s history and interpreting its stories in ways that affect both the head andthe heart. Our twenty-two historic sites capture the essence of Nantucket’s singular identity, while our nationally accredited and acclaimed Whaling Museum is a vibrant community gathering place where history comes alive through compelling exhibitions, lively events, and engaging educational programs.

We are grateful for your commitment to the NHA and hopeful that you will continue to support our important work with an unrestricted gift to the Annual Fund. It is difficult to overstate the importance of this yearly appeal. The Annual Fund nurtures everything we do—from programs to preservation, from events to the visitor’s experience. Our goal is to reach, or even exceed, last year’s achievement of $280,000.

Although you may have contributed to the NHA in other ways this year, know that your Annual Fund gift will ensure that we continue to offer programs of the quality you have come to expect—exhibitions such as “Sometimes Think of Me”: Notable Nantucket Women through the Centuries, Visions of Her,  and A Passion for People; and more than 150 public programs, including family festivals, gams, lectures, concerts, tours, and 1800 House crafts classes.
