One: Find An Image
Search our online
database, record the image number(s) of images
you would like to order. The Nantucket Historical
Association also owns many other images available
for reproduction. Access to these may require an
inhouse search.

Two: Determine What Format You Want
Images are available in many different formats,
including:
- digital (which can either be written to CD or
emailed to you),
- printouts on matte or glossy paper (8 1/2"
x 11" or smaller),
- exhibition-quality prints (sizes from 5"x
7" to 20" x 33").

Three: Place An Order
For both inhouse, mail, and email requests for photographs,
the Photograph
Order Form (pdf) should be used. Send your completed
form to NHA Research Library Photograph Collections,
Attention Marie Henke, 7 Fair Street, Box 1016,

Four: Determining Use, or Are You Hoping To Publish
This Image?
Images reproduced from the collections of the NHA
are for viewing and personal use only. Reproduction
is for one use only in one format. Permission for
commercial use or any publication, manipulation,
display or distribution is only granted by written
application. Please fill out and return the Application
for Permission to Reproduce Images (pdf file)
to formally request permission for usage beyond
personal use.
Reproduction of images requires application and is nontransferable. The NHA may limit publication due to copyright restrictions (see our copyright statement). All reproductions must include proper citation. The applicant agrees to send the repository two copies of the work containing the reproduction at no charge. Reproduction is permitted only from prints, transparencies, or digital images supplied by NHA. No original photographs will be loaned.

Five: Payment of Image Reproduction & Use Fees
Obtaining and/or publication of any image from the
collections held by the NHA is subject to use fees,
according to a schedule. Click here to view the List

Step
Six: Delivery
Minimum order time for July-August is 5 weeks, for
September-June is 3 weeks. Requests for rush orders
may receive a rush charge. When prints are shipped,
the cost of shipping will be added onto your charges;
if a patron has a FedEx account, this number can
be used if the number is supplied.
