Old Town Building
Washington Street
1900s to 1950s

Police Headquarters were formerly in the Old
Town Building. People recall that in the 1960s there were only six officers and one cruiser, a 2-door Model-A Ford someone had donated.

The police in those days had no radios; they used the pay phone by the Hub to call in their reports. Everett Lamb Sr. was a patrolman, known as “Patrolman Lamb Chops.”
