Located in Wing’s department store, this was the Nantucket branch of the well-known New Bedford Star Store, which was a destination for many islanders’ overnight trips to the sister whaling city.

Bob Mooney recalls that when he was a boy all Nantucket children were invited to the Wing store on their birthdays to choose a gift: “…a little truck, or a doll, or something like that.”
