1930s to 1970s
S. & H. Green Stamps were a rewards program operated by the Sperry & Hutchinson company. Customers received stamps at checkout counters of supermarkets, department stores, and gas stations. They placed the stamps into booklets, which, when filled, could be redeemed for products in the S. & H. catalogue. S. & H. Green Stamps contributed to the fortune of Walter Beinecke Jr., the well-known Nantucket entrepreneur and benefactor.
