Andy and Edna Docca
1940s to 1970s
Andy and Edna Docca ran Andys Diner in the lean-to extension of the original Downyflake building. This cozy and popular eatery featured a counter, a handful of stools, and a few tables and served plain and quick diner fare. Andy cooked and Edna took the orders. They advertised 3 Meals a Day and were open from 6:30 A.M. 6:30 P.M.
Andys Diner had a sign in the corner that read: What the hell are you looking up here for? Robert McGrath says: The food was perfect. I ate there every morning in those days. They served good wholesome food, but no liquor. They had a milk bottle in the corner for the mother of the unknown soldier.
