Nantucket Memorial Airport
Cliff and Bill Allen,
Arnold Larson
1946 to 1950s

Nobadeer Air Service was operated by the Allen brothers out of Nantucket Memorial Airport in the period following World War II. It occupied the far corner of the field (the farmhouse) on the continuation of Nobadeer Farm Road south into the field. They had a small hangar there, where their colleague Arnold Larson and his wife lived. The building housed a restaurant, the charter office, and a small pilots’ lounge. Cliff did most of the flying and Bill managed the family’s downtown establishment, Allen’s Diner (now the Club Car) on lower Main Street.
