In addition to these Embroidered Narratives, items belonging to each woman are on display.
Libby Oldham's artifacts include photographs from theatrical productions of Charlie's Aunt and Oklahoma; copies of her favorite books including Middlemarch and Billy Collins' Picnic, Lightning; and a model of the Unitarian Church.
Nancy Chase's work is complemented by a selection of her scrimshaw, as well as the tools of her trade.
Artifacts of Edith Andrews's life include her binoculars and copies of Birding Nantucket and the Nantucket Birding Checklist.
Mary E. Starbuck's exhibit includes her books My House and I and Nantucket and Other Verses and a hand-written copy of her poem, "Nantucket."
Martha Fish's personal diary is featured in the exhibition.
Sarah Veeder's portrait and the illustrated journal she kept while living aboard the whaleship Nauticon are on display.
Maria Mitchell's personal objects include her telescope and her beer mug, graciously loaned by the Maria Mitchell Association.
Included in Grace Grossman's display are a photograph of herself with her husband Bernie and a wooden egg painted with their favorite motto: "To everything there is a season . . ."
Eunice Ross's exhibit items include a photograph of her teacher, Anna Gardner, and of the African Meeting House on Pleasant Street before it was renovated.
