Painted canvas floor cloths were first introduced to America from Britain in the late eighteenth century. They were used to decorate entries, hallways, and dining rooms. Floor cloths were also used as the summer rug, stored under a rug that was rolled away for the summer. Create a nautical-themed floor cloth using designs such as a compass rose, ropes, ships, shells. We have an extensive collection of traditional stencils available. The finish size is 3’ x 5’. However, for an additional material cost, students can custom size their rug to a maximum size of 4’ x 6’.

All materials provided. Maximum class size: 8
