One-Day Workshop, “Mermaid” Painted Panel, with Gay Held
Friday, August 20: 9 A.M.–1 P.M.
Member $125; Nonmember $175

Everyone loves a mermaid! Why? Mermaids are mysterious. Goddesses, fertility symbols, independent women, ageless beauties, they are in all their forms beckoning us back again and again, to leave the safety of solid ground and plunge headfirst into the complex mysteries of the sea. This one-day workshop is an adventure, an acrylic painted mermaid on a wood panel. The panels will be primed and the design, based on an historic painted trunk, provided. Students will select their own color palette based on their personal interpretation of this magical symbol. A wooden frame will be provided that each student may choose to paint in a grained fashion or a plain stain.

All materials provided. Maximum class size: 8
