Tin Cookie Cutters One-Day Workshop, with Don Carpentier

Learn how to bend, shape, crimp and solder tin into a cookie cutter shape using eighteenth century tools. Use cookie cutters from the NHA collection as inspiration or create your own unique pattern in this one-day workshop. Students will be able to add a back and a handle to their piece to create an authentic cookie cutter.

Don Carpentier is the creator and director of Eastfield Village in Nassau, N.Y. He is a practicing historical potter who specializes in eighteenth and nineteenth century English pottery such as mochaware, tortoise shell wares, shell-edged and molded pearlwares. He is also a practitioner of other early trades such as tinsmithing, woodworking, blacksmithing, as well as reproducing and restoring early lighting devices.
