Steven A. Weaver has been carving birds for twenty-seven years. He has keen observational skills that enable him to capture the essence of a live bird. As a third-generation Cape Codder and son of a taxidermist, he spent much of his time outdoors developing a love of nature-hunting, fishing, and sketching wildlife. These all contribute to the lifelike quality of his carved birds. His works have been exhibited at the Ward Foundation Museum in Salisbury, Maryland and the Duxbury Art Complex, the Cahoon Museum of American Art, Heritage Plantation, and the Museum of Natural History in Massachusetts.
