The Hidden Museum: Behind The Scenes At The NHA On June 2

NANTUCKET, MA: Get an insider’s view of the “hidden museum” during a behind-the-scenes tour of the Nantucket Historical Association’s collections on Thursday, June 2, 11 A.M.–Noon.

Highlighting this year’s major exhibition, Nantucket’s Cabinet of Curiosities: A to Z, NHA curators will lead a private tour at the source of the exhibition—the NHA’s Gosnold Center, the collections storage facility. “Following the ‘A to Z’ theme, visitors will see a tremendous range of artifacts, from ‘A’ is for arrowheads and anchors, to ‘P’ is for portraits, to ‘S’ is for scrimshaw, samplers, and signs,” says Ben Simons, Robyn & John Davis Chief Curator.

Limited space is available and advance registration is required. The tour meets at the Gosnold Center, 89 Bartlett Road, and is free for NHA members, $15 for nonmembers. To register, call 508-228-1894, ext. 0.
